June 3, 2008

Hello. I'm sick again (for the third time this month) so I have been about resting and getting as much work done as I can from the couch and not so much about blogging. This is getting kind of ridiculous, but maybe it has to do with the fact that I have not slept for longer than three hours at a time in four months...just a hunch. That might be all about to change though, because last night B slept for 6 hours straight! Hallelujah. Of course I woke up at 3:30am to check on him so I did not sleep for 6 hours, but just the idea that I could have is enough for me. I'm not getting too excited (he's teased us like this before), but there is hope.

Here are a couple projects I'm hoping to start soon:

Curtains for B's room. I found these Nautica brand sheets at Ross, with help from Faith (who was here on Sunday and we had the best day just doing nothing...it's what we do best). The fabric reminds me of the texture of barkcloth and has a retro feel. I think it will go very nicely with the decor and if there is enough I may even attempt a crib skirt.

And I can't wait to make this bag for me. I think it would make a wonderful beach bag and an ideal carry-all for Summer. I have a fun idea for the fabric too. Did you hear Amy is coming out with a book of 20 baby sewing projects? I will post a few photos soon - I am SO excited. I think I'm due for an Amy Butler post soon as she has a couple other things coming out this Summer that I'm really looking forward to.

I also finished my living room pillows, which I need to shoot. I love the new colors! It's amazing what pillows can do for a room.

June is going to be a busy month. Here's what I have on the calendar:
- engagement session with J & T in Beverly Hills
- engagement session with S & N in Santa Cruz
- engagement session with R & C in San Francisco
- family session in Santa Barbara
- family session in Bay Area
- photo shoot with decorator for her new website
- spending two weeks in Santa Cruz for photo shoots and family time

I don't know how I'm going to pull all this off. I have mixed emotions about being this busy, but July is looking pretty empty and I plan on keeping it that way. Thankful for photo shoots and also thankful for some time off!

The sheet aisle at Ross=very messy but inexpensive fabric store. With some of the hems done for you. Love it.
