Hannah & Kyle on Once Wed

Ruth & David's Wedding

Ruth and David are such a sweet couple. I feel a kindred spirit in Ruth: her love for Anthropologie, great shoes and photography. Ruth has a sweet blog as well (the header image is from our fantastic engagement shoot in Santa Monica) and put so much thought into all the personal details of their wedding. They married in July and we had that beautiful Summer sun. Much love to both of you! And sorry it took me so long to blog your wedding : )

Five Years

Fo and I celebrated our five year anniversary at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club, Palm Springs. We zipped there in our rented Mini Cooper (because the family car just wasn't doing it for me on this occasion) and enjoyed a day & a half of drinking berry mojitos by the pool and champagne by the fireplace at night. We also made googly eyes at each other most of the weekend (ew), but we just feel so blessed to be where we are five years after our wedding. It's so nice to have someone like him to do "life" with.

And of course we paid a visit to the lobby photo booth : )

We will be at the furthest thing from the beach celebrating our 5 year anniversary this weekend! But I loved these Polaroids from our evening with friends from out of town. We are doing some anniversary photos next week too, which I have been planning for and will be fun, fun, fun. Partly because I get to wear a birdcage veil : )

Home from the East Coast and other news

I got back last Tuesday, really. My trip to NY & DC with my bestie Faith was so fun and just what I needed. I can't thank my super husband enough - I owe him a fishing trip soon for sure : )

Highlights:
- Shooting lots of Polaroid - I have been living in Polaroid lately and I kind of love it.
- Cupcakes at Crumbs, NYC
- Hanging with Jenny Beth & my good friend Patrick (from photo school..he's 1st asst. for Mark Seliger ooh la la)
- Flea market in the Village, scoring on tie clips and Vera scarves
- Young designers' sample sale. We both bought necklaces by the lovely Jaymee Luu. Mine and Faith's.
- Museums in DC. We liked the first lady dresses, gem exhibit, finding a Wayne Thiebaud cake painting and a really beautiful Georgia O'keefe that nothing like the ones she is so famous for. I wish I could find it on the web to show you, but no luck.
- Eating lots and lots of good food.

This week I am working on a lot of album designs, pouring over the almost 5,000 images we shot at Joanna & David's Ojai Valley Inn Wedding last Saturday, getting ready for our 5 year anniv. shoot on Thursday with Levi (birdcage veils, dominoes, vintage playing cards, handmade kites...should be a good time) and then taking off to Palm Springs on Friday for a little anniversary getaway to the Ace Hotel.

And it's raining today! It's a lot easier to stay inside and work with weather like this. Everyone in So Cal seems to be excited for this storm - it's been a looong time since we've seen raindrops.
