Joanna & David's Wedding

Joanna & David. Love them.
Love their sweet personalities
Love their love for wine & beer
Love Joanna's shoes and rockin' accessories
Even love their love for Greenbay despite not being a football person. It's really cute. David even gave Joanna a jersey with her new last name!

I love how they approached their wedding day & made it a personal, intimate celebration. Amber, their fabulous coordinator and I agreed there was a lot of love & fun in the room that night.

Speaking of Amber, she wrote a great post about their wedding and you can see it right here. Amber is an awesome person and on top of that, so good at what she does. Thanks to her & all these wedding professionals the day was beautiful & such a joy to capture.

Christmas Decoration Inspiration

I am itching to pull out my Christmas decorations early this year. Maybe it's because we finally have a mantle above our fireplace begging to be adorned, or maybe it's because there is just so much inspiration out there. No matter, I am excited!

I wouldn't call this an inspiration board, but these are some ideas for new decorations I'd like to try. I am really feeling hard lines & soft edges together. How fun are those sparkly geometric pinatas? Mini versions would be so cute hanging form the ceiling.

Five Year Anniversary Shoot

Ooh, now that Levi has posted these on his blog I can finally show you my favorites from our 5-year anniversary shoot! Obviously, I think photos are a great way to celebrate being in love and it has been FIVE whole years since we've dressed up and had our picture taken. And to be honest, thanks to my stylish brides this year, I have major birdcage veil envy! The wind did not really cooperate with me so I only wore it for a bit, but I think I'm cured of my jealousy for awhile.

Levi did a stunning job capturing our "date" where we flew a homemade kite (pretty unsuccessfully!), played dominoes & cards on a blanket and took a romantic sunset walk.

I could not find a bow tie for Forest anywhere so I ended up making one out of a vintage floral sheet and I also made the kite from wrapping paper & fabric scraps (though, test your kite first if you're going to try...some major mods were needed to actually make it work). I also made my birdcage veil from netting purchased at Michael Levine in LA and a fabric flower I bought at an indy designer sale in NYC. Forest's suit is H&M, my dress is vintage from Buffalo Exchange. You should have seen the house an hour before we were supposed to leave - it was crafting chaos. BUT, we pulled it off and have these lovely photos to treasure forever.

A huge huge thank you to Levi - if you like what you see stop by his blog & website to tell him so. I have loved having him as my assistant for the past year. He's off traveling & doing cool photography projects, but I hope to get him back next year...that is if he isn't too busy shooting his own weddings.

Anniversary photos are the new engagement session! We might have to do this every five years...or sooner : )

Raya

Happy Weekend

ohmygosh! It was Polaroid Week and I totally missed it. Not that I have any film right now...but I have been waiting to share these from Joanna & David's wedding a few weeks ago so I'm sneaking them in on the last day. These will be hard to part with, but I'm packaging them up and sending them off to Joanna soon. I LOVE shooting Polaroid at weddings - it's my new favorite.

Yay for Polaroid coming back officially in 2010. Happy Weekend!
