thirty-one in twenty-ten

Today I am thirty-one...and I am not, I repeat NOT having a low-carb birthday. Not after the beignets, potatoes & biscuits at Tupelo Junction this morning and not after the fried chicken & chocolate cake I am going to eat tonight.

But my dear friend Jess sent this to me and I thought it was hilarious.  Thank you Jess for always making me laugh : )

Today I am feeling very loved and how can I not with gifts like this?  This year is new, but I am already feeling like it's the "year of the friend".  I had a few years of feeling a little alone with my thoughts after moving to Ventura & having a baby, but I have made some really precious friendships in the last few months that have changed my life. New & old, you know who you all are.

So now in continued celebration I'm going to open the packages that just arrived on my doorstep. I love presents, I'm not gonna lie.

Happy Tuesday!

Raya! Happy Birthday! :) You are clearly a gift to this world and what Faith wrote is very telling of that. You deserve fried chicken (YUMMMM --my fav) and much, much more :) Though fried chicken is pretty up there.. ;P
