Flea Market Finds

Got to walk the Alameda flea market with my mom & sister on Sunday. I've been wanting to check it out for months & felt totally overwhelmed being there - it is massive & didn't bring anything big home, but did find some fun accessories.

I also found this AMAZING piece of furniture that was already sold by the time I got to it. I wish I had taken a photo, but was too shy to ask the vendor. It was a turquoise Midcentury shell chair attached to a platform with a low table on one side & a bigger desk/drawer on the other...I want to call it a telephone table, but finding anything similar has not been successful. If anyone knows more about this, let me know...I am now obsessed with finding one. Turquoise! Midcentury! It must be mine.

Clockwise from top: tie clips & pins, unworn 9WEST vintage flats, a pretty blue hanger that is going in my camera bag so brides don't have to have their dress photographed on plastic anymore, a stack of silk scarves (all from the $1 bin except for the Vera).

Probably...I kind of just made that name up. The website is antiquesbythebay.com

I suggest getting there early & going home early. Traffic getting back to the freeway was insane.

Hope you get there!

Eee, so very jealous of your shoe find!

Where do you like to go locally out here in Ventura County? I'm so bummed Nicholby's closed.

The day Nicholby's closed was the saddest day : ( I still visit the other thrift shops downtown on Main and there used to be (or maybe still is) a Wed. flea market at the Fair grounds. Smaller than the RG Canning one, but free to get into, which is always nice : )
