Our baby girl is here! She didn't get here until 11 days after her due date, but when she was ready she was ready. For some reason I wasn't going into labor on my own and after a non-stress test it was determined this baby needed to get here sooner than later. We had a very smooth, very fast unmedicated delivery (2 hours after my water was broken) and she arrived healthy and pink, which we are so thankful for. Anyone who has had a baby go overdue more than a few days knows it's a mental battle every day you wake up and are not in labor. I don't know how many times I said, "I'm so glad it's over" after she was born, but it was a lot.
Five days after her birthday I turned 32. Yay for close birthdays and future mother-daughter celebrations. Forest made me breakfast, I ate lots of bacon, cuddled a baby and watched hours of home improvement programming on hgtv.com. It was lovely.
