One year, when I was four, I was a bucket of movie popcorn. She even adorned my head with a wig of strands of popcorn. In the only photo of me in that costume, my eyes are puffy and red and my face is wet from crying so much. I looked so pathetic. I played sick from school and worked on it all day using my moms sheer curtains. I did not sew anything - it was all tape and staples. Fortunately I was wise enough NOT to staple her sheer curtains. My brother had used it in previous years, so I wanted my turn. From the front, your standard football player complete with helmet, black under the eyes, and shoulder pads. From the back - a waist-length ponytail that I would swing when I walked away. I loved that "Hey! One year I got stuck with the Christmas tree costume. That's right, a Christmas tree. This huge cardboard cut of a Christmas tree. I think I had the same face as the Dairy Queen outfit face.<BR/>My most favorite was pretty lame, but we had so much fun. We were dead students. Basically wore our normal clothes, backpacks, and white make-up. But I do remember the year I won the best costume award at our church festival- I was Aunt Jemima! My dress and apron were stuffed to make a bit more...bountiful, my face was painted, and I carried a wooden spoon. The best failed costume was actually my best friends- she wore a bright green sweatshirt with the letter "P" on it and had one eye painted black. She was a black-eyed pea!
